It's our Anniversary!

Today marks 4 years that I have been married to my incredible husband, Jeff.

Our wedding day brings back some crazy memories. Everyone says something goes wrong on your wedding day and boy did it on ours!

1st of all we went to get our rental car on Friday before our rehearsal dinner. The car was located in Grand Rapids (because that's where we were flying into after our honeymoon). So we drove to GR and went to pick up our Mustang that we rented. They pretty much said they didn't have any even though we had already put a hold on it. Then, they didn't take anything but cash or discover cards. We had neither on us. SO we had to drive to go get cash. We were on a time crunch because we had to get back to our rehearsal dinner in Lansing. While we are trying to get our car we get a call from The Wheatfield Bed and Breakfast (where our reception is) saying that a Tornado went through Williamston and knocked the power out. They don't have a generator out there and she basically said that the power company said power wouldn't be back on until Monday.
We FINALLY got our car (the Mustang), got to our rehearsal dinner and went out to Wheatfield to decorate in the dark. My father in law also booked The Holiday Inn just in case we were unable to get power back at Wheatfield.
The next day (our wedding day) the newspaper read "Tornado Strikes Town." We finally get a call from Wheatfield letting us know that they did get power back, thank goodness! I know they really had to fight for the power companies to get out there and fix it. 10am rolls around and I am off to my hair appointment. Well, what else happens but I run out of gas on the way! Luckily there was a oil change place there with guys just sitting around. They started arguing about who was going to go get the gas-like basically, they really didn't want to go even though they were all just sitting there reading magazines. I'm like "It's my wedding day!" Someone do something. They finally got the gas for me and I was off to get my hair done.

After this, the day went flawlessly. We had a beautiful ceremony and a night of fun with all our close friends and family.

So all the brides out there who are worried about how their wedding day is going to go just remember this:
Things may go wrong, they will but everything has a way of working itself out and at the end of the day you ARE going to be married to the man of your dreams and each year on your anniversary you will have a great story to tell everyone!

I've been so incredibly blessed in life and am very lucky to have such a wonderful husband. I can't believe how time has gone by. Married for 4 years and now having a little baby girl.
