Amie & Aaron in Lansing, MI
The couple was married at Amie‘s childhood church. "The church is small and simple, but it has a long history with my family," Amie says.
Amie and Aaron sent out pink invites with a gerbera daisy motif in a modern edgy style to set the tone for their April wedding celebration.
Amie wore a strapless gown with tulle and beading gathered on top and ruching in the skirt by Anjolique, while her eight bridesmaids wore strapless dresses in chocolate brown trimmed in pale pink. The A-line, tea-length dresses were by Forever Yours.
Each bridesmaid carried an arrangement of pink gerbera daisies hand-tied with chocolate ribbon.
Aaron and his groomsmen wore mini gerbera daisy boutonnieres.
Half of the centerpieces were square glass vases wrapped on the inside with chocolate brown ti leaves filled with gerbera daises, and the other half were designed in a grid of candles and gerbera daisies. The tables were also accented with rows of votive candles.
Amie and Aaron displayed their cupcakes on tiers adorned with a large monogram of the couple‘s last name.
Amie and Aaron opted for cupcakes that looked just like gerbera daisies. Half of the cupcakes were cherry chip with chocolate filling, and the other half were chocolate with raspberry filling.
Pink flip-flops were given to some of the guests at Amie and Aaron‘s wedding.

Amie and Aaron were both born and raised in Lansing and even attended the same high school. Because they had the same large circle of friends, the pair would often run into each other at gatherings. For their first date, Aaron took Amie out on the water on his jet ski. They spent hours riding around Lake Michigan and watching the sun set on the shore.

The Date April 28

After three and a half years of dating, Aaron asked Amie to marry him in a simple yet special proposal. After a quiet dinner one evening, the couple was sitting on the couch watching TV and finishing their wine when Aaron opened his hands to reveal a ring box. One year later, the pair exchanged vows in a traditional ceremony at the same church where the bride's grandparents had been married.
