Incredible is the 1st word that comes to mind to describe the year that I have had. This year was probably the busiest but most rewarding year of my life. I found out shortly after the new year that my husband, Jeff and I were expecting our 1st baby! I was in for a completely booked year as a pregnant lady! In April I photographed a wonderful wedding that I've talked about probably way too much but I give so much gratitude to this bride for submitting my pictures from her wedding to The Knot: Michigan Magazine. I found out soon after that they would be featured in the magazine and an extended version with 9 pictures was chosen to appear on theknot.com.
Around this same time we had our "BIG" ultrasound to determine that we were having a little girl! I had so many wonderful weddings during the duration of the summer that ended on August 25. But the work didn't stop there. I continued to edit right up until September 24 when our little Natalie June was born, the joy of our lives! As soon as I returned home a few days later it was back to answering e-mails and editing pictures and of course changing A LOT of diapers! In November I was contacted in regards to a photo I took of my sweet baby niece, Jenna. I had it in my Better Photo Folio on betterphoto.com. It was selected as a finalist to appear in Jim Miotke's (the founder of betterphoto.com) book "The Better Photo Guide to Photographing Children." I have one more round to go through and will find out in 2-3 months if it will actually be appearing in the book.
In December, I was contacted by Lindsay from The Lansing State Journal. She interviewed me about my business and asked about what I thought brides would want in a wedding photographer. This article should be appearing in The Lansing State Journal soon.
This year I have also donated money and my services to many organizations including: Expectant Parent Organization, Boy Scouts of America, Susan G Komen for the Cure 3 Day Breast Cancer walk, Haslett Schools and Alzheimer's Association 2007 Lansing Memory Walk.
This was my 2nd full year in business and I could not be happier with how it went. I never in a million years imagined doing this well in my 10th year of business let alone my 2nd!
Wow what an incredible year!
Thank you so much to my wonderful husband who does all the behind the scenes work like creating my new website, making all my photo CDs and putting all pictures online.
Thank you SO much to all my wonderful clients this year!!! I have loved working with each and everyone of you!
Here they are! Listed is everyone of the awesome wedding couples I worked with this year:
