Happy Fathers Day!!!

Just thought I would write a quick note to all the dads out there since today is such a special day! It is my husbands 1st official fathers day.

I always knew that Jeff and I would have a daughter and she would be a daddy's girl. Boy was I right! You can tell even at this young age that she has a real liking for her daddy! It's hard for me to watch father/daughter dances now because I think of that day when Natalie is all grown up and dancing that dance with her daddy.

Just to share a little story from yesterday...The brides dad of the wedding I was photographing had put a 50 cent piece in his pocket the day she was born in 1984. The coin was the same year. He had kept that same coin in his pocket everyday since she was born. On her wedding day (yesterday) he had some words for her (I was too far away with my zoom lens to hear!) and gave her that very coin that he had held so close to him all those years. The coin barely looked like a coin it was so worn. Both daughter and dad were drowned in tears. I thought this was a beautiful and special moment.

I KNOW that this kind of moment will happen between my husband and Natty someday. She's so very lucky to have such a compassionate, sensitive, wonderful man for her daddy.

My dad couldn't wait to be a grandpa and really can't wait for her to start talking to him! He asks all the time what new words she is saying. Um, dad....I don't think they start really talking until after 1 years old! Happy Fathers Day!
